Hi Gals!
Looks like maybe Fall is finally here! If Spring is a time of rebirth and new beginnings, then Fall must surely be the time of year that feeds our souls! The changing of the seasons is truly the most beautiful time of year and is there anything better than sitting by the fireplace sipping hot cocoa? And my personal favorite is the “first day of chili weather”.
Anyway, I wanted to remind you of our upcoming events for the remainder of the year! First of all, on Friday, October 28, from 7-11 PM is our Non-sleep Sleepover. Every year this event just gets better. And this year, is no exception! Our theme is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. I’ve had a “sneak peak” at the evening, and you don’t want to miss it! Wear your favorite PJ’s and bring your best breakfast food! It’s a great time to be with friends and enjoy the yummiest food ever!
On Saturday, November 12 at 11:30, we will be having a wonderful lunch at Coco’s Tea Room at the Vineyard’s Antique Mall. Tickets are available in the foyer for $12. If you can only come for lunch, we’d love to have you, or better still, enjoy strolling the Antique Mall in the afternoon and pick up some beautiful things for your home! Invite a friend and we’ll see you there!
Our last event this year, is our Ladies’ Christmas Party. This is one of my favorite events. It is a beautiful night! Our Abundant Life Chef, Dan Bell, makes his most incredible chicken with all the trimmings, the men serve us at our table, and once again we will share Christmas Memories. The theme for the night is Christmas Memories – the Sequel. Last Christmas was such a hit, we are doing it again with a little different twist! Don’t miss it!
Speaking of “first day of chili weather”, here is my favorite fast chili recipe:
Brown 1 lb. of ground beef, add one large can of chili, one small can tomatoes, and one can of Ranch beans. Let this simmer in the crock pot for several hours. Place crush Fritos in the bottom of the bowl, add chili, and top with cheddar cheese. Couldn’t be easier! And to round out the meal, serve with chips and Rotel cheese dip. Don’t forget brownies for dessert! (I think Ghiradelli Double Chocolate are the best!!)
Happy Fall!
Claudia
